Super PAC chair declines to discusses its $40k hotel debt, but eagerly praises the venue

Yesterday’s 1100 Pennsylvania reported that pro-Trump Women Vote Smart owes the president’s D.C. hotel more than $40,000 for hosting the Super PAC’s Women for America First Summit in October 2018.

Shortly after pressing publish and send, the Super PAC’s chair, Amy Kremer, replied to an inquiry about how it incurred the debt and her plans for paying it off:

Our policy is not to discuss the specific details of our relationships with vendors. In general, we are committed to paying vendors in as timely of a manner as is possible under the circumstances. We had a great event there in the fall and look forward to doing future events at Trump International, the best hotel in DC! If you have never stayed there, you should...it is amazing!

In other Trump Hotel D.C. sightings…

Republican Omar Navarro, whose campaign spent more than $11,000 at Trump properties in his unsuccessful attempt to unseat Maxine Waters, met Tiffany Trump.

Trump 2020 campaign advisor Katrina Pierson was back at her boss’s hotel where she wished her boss’s daughter good luck on her exams.

Confirming an earlier report of his presence, this picture of actor Jon Voight popped up on Facebook yesterday.

Fox News pundit and Trump campaign advisor Harlan Hill drew a finger gun at former Breitbart London editor-in-chief and current ally of Nigel Farage and Steve Bannon, Raheem Kassam.

The GOP’s unsuccessful 2018 candidate for secretary of state in California, Mark Meuser, noted the juxtaposition of the hotel’s Christmas tree and American flag.

Journalist Joshua Green breezed through GOP events at the hotel last night and noted that the big topic of conversation was Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

And she’s totally cool with that.

Legal cases, current status (latest change: Dec. 10, 2018)

DC and MD attorneys general’s emoluments lawsuit—Discovery started Dec. 3 and is scheduled to run through Aug. 2, 2019. So far the AGs have subpoenaed the Trump Organization; the U.S. Departments of Agriculture, Commerce, Defense, and Treasury and the GSA; and the state of Maine. On Nov. 30, Trump’s Justice Department attorneys asked the 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals for a stay.
196 Democratic senators and representatives’ emoluments lawsuit—On Sept. 28 judge Emmet G. Sullivan ruled that the legislators have standing to sue. Trump’s Justice Department attorneys filed an interlocutory appeal on Oct. 22.
CREW et. al’s emoluments lawsuit—In February, CREW appealed its suit being dismissed for lack of standing to the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. Oral arguments on that motion were held on Oct. 30.
Cork’s unfair competition lawsuit—Judge Richard J. Leon dismissed the case on Nov. 26, writing “Cork has failed to state a claim for unfair competition under D.C. law.” On Dec. 10, Cork’s attorneys filed a notice of appeal.
Employees’ class-action suit alleging racial discrimination—A status hearing on arbitration is scheduled for Jan. 25, 2019.

Days the hotel’s steakhouse, BLT Prime, has been out of compliance with the D.C. health code

“Romanian Consulate event at Trump hotel in Chicago draws scrutiny” by David Fahrenthold for the Washington Post.

The money-losing Trump Aberdeen golf course is seeking a public show of support for its plans to build “luxurious residential cottages, townhouses and mansion homes, further five-star hotel lodges and accommodation, new resort leisure facilities including a sports centre, retail units and other amenities.” Read the entire letter.
