On Oct. 26, 2016, the Trump Hotel D.C. celebrated its grand opening. In a bit of foreshadowing, the ceremony doubled as a campaign stop for Donald J. Trump, with the then-candidate plugging his brand’s accomplishments to a room full of political reporters (and at least one travel journalist).
